Well this last month has flown past, and for a change the weather has been perfect, and for that you will all be grateful because I won’t be whinging on about that.

I have done several trips with the WWF, where I have taken them out, and we have been tagging Tope, which has been interesting for them. This has all been in conjunction with Southampton University’s Shark Tagging programme.

On a recent trip Mark Harris caught a nice Undulate Ray of 16lbs plus, which was photographed and released, the picture is now on my web site.

The Black Bream are still around, but they are mainly juvenile fish now as the bigger ones have moved off, but they still rattle the rod tips.

We have managed to find a few Bass at times, but the double figured fish are alluding me at the moment, although the fish that I am finding are ranging between 3lbs and 8lbs. Unfortunately I can’t fish for them when I have full crews, as there would be too many lines in the water, and fish would be lost through tangles, as I found out the other day. The ideal would be to have a maximum of six, but the downside to that is it would then become more expensive for the charter.

I had the unfortunate situation the other weekend of being double booked, it is a situation that I have dreaded happening, and it is the first time in twenty five years or more that it has happened to me I can only apologise once more to the parties concerned, as it was I spent best part of an hour on my mobile trying to arrange another boat to cover but without success. As they say, crap happens, even to the best of us.
