“Late again” I hear you say, well just a bit and I have no excuse’s what so ever, except that I have managed to get out and do a bit of fishing, not as much as I would like because the weather as we all know has been absolutely dire. I have lost so many trips this year due to the weather, and it has put so many of you off going out, that some have virtually given up all together. With a bit of luck we will get a late run of summer sunshine, and everyone will be wanting to get out fishing again.

Even though I have been having a good moan about the conditions, when I have been able to get out we have been able to find some good fish. Mike Humm who caught the twelve pound plus Bass that I mentioned in my last jottings won the News of the World fish of the week, as did Matt Brading a month before with his five pound one ounce Black Bream, so I was well pleased to get two of my anglers an extra prize for their efforts.

Well the West Wight Charter Skippers Association Light Line Competition will soon be upon us again, it is being run from Lymington this year on the 22nd August, there are still places available, contact me, or download an entry form from www.westwightskippers.co.uk the first prize is £500.00 for the most points, plus loads of other prizes.

Last Sunday Rachael Slater was onboard with a small party and managed to land a good Bass weighing 7lbs 12ozs well done girl we might see you fishing again, see photo on the web.

That is about all for now, but the prospects are looking good for some fine Bass fishing over the next couple of months, so with a bit of luck I hope that I can capture some good photos for the web site.
