Becky M Newsletter

Monday 3rd July, 2006

No doubt all of you have been wondering what on earth has been happening with my “Jottings” of late, either they are late, or when I do get around to writing them they are short.

Well you deserve some sort of explanation so I will try to give you one.

Firstly unless there is something worthwhile to report it is very easy to become repetitious with what you are saying, and therefore the same old thing is said time and time again.

Secondly for some reason or other I am not out as much this year, and there are lots of dates unfilled, with a bit of luck things might change now that the World Cup has eluded us again.

We have also been having great sport with the Black Bream this year, and the Bass fishing is beginning to look exciting as well.

I haven’t bothered going offshore much for the last couple of years, as the area that I used to go to seems to have been over fished, to the extent that it became a waste of time going that far, so I stayed on the inshore marks.

Still we have been having some great weather of late, and being out there at sea has been the coolest place around, with a nice refreshing sea breeze coming up in the afternoon to cool us off.

I hope that I have been able to go someway to explain the reasons for the lack of communication to you, and I look forward to having you onboard again soon, and be in the position of netting a big fish for you. If you remember, it was last year that Mark Harris caught that good Bass weighing 12lb 2ozs, which was photographed and then released, and won him a fish finder worth over £600.00.

This year the Topknot that Kevin Green caught won for him a reel worth over £100.00, so I am able to sneek the odd bit of bounty for my anglers.

Just a quick reminder, the WWCSA are running their Light Line competition again this year on the 17th August, entry forms are available from their website which is www.westwightskippers.co.uk.

Tight lines,

Dave
