What a turn around on the fishing front at the moment. The Black Bream fishing is still going well with the heaviest one to come aboard was a hen fish full of roe, and she weighed in at 4 lbs 3 ozs and was caught weighed, and returned by Brian Green. We have really been having some good catches, and I am proud of my customers, as they have been keeping no more than four fish each, and returned the rest. Well done lads, at least we are doing our bit for conservation, and at the same time having some great sport.
It seems to be a year for me to be landing unusual fish, the latest oddity has been a Topknot, a strange little fish to say the least. (See photograph on my web site.) My thanks to Chris Clarke for coming down to Lymington to photograph it, it is now residing at “Fort Victoria Aquarium”, along with another little oddity a Tompot Blenny.
A quick reminder to those of you who are interested, the West Wight Charter Skippers Association are running their Light Line Competition again on 17th August, entry forms are available from either me, or their Web site.
That’s about it for now, the weather is at last perfect, and I still have a few dates available, so lets go fishing.
Hope to see you soon,
Tight lines,
Dave
