Hello once again to you all, due to my computer playing up and not allowing me to send out e-mails this set of jottings was meant to have come out mid February. Well there isn’t a lot to write about at the moment, apart from the weather affecting the fishing, and the trips in its usual customary manner at this time of the year.

I am getting the occasional trip in, but we are being buffeted quite a bit by the strong winds that appear at about this time of the year, and that puts a dampener on things.

I am reliably informed that there are still some good bass about, but to date I haven’t managed to get stuck into them yet, but given the opportunity I will have a shot at them. We are still managing to find some nice Rays, both Undulate, and Thornbacks.

On my last trip, we fished over the back of the Shingle Banks, and we were rewarded with wall to wall Dogfish, the occasional Pout, Spotted Ray, and a strap Conger, not a very exciting days fishing, but at least the lines were being tugged, and it was a lot better than being tied up alongside.

I must also get my backside into gear, and start thinking about coming out of the water for a paint job, and see what else is needed to be done. I am also due my five year inspection as well, so I will see if I can combine the two.

That’s about all for now as we are set into the winter doldrums, with very little happening at the moment. So it is on with the maintenance, and get prepared for the Spring.
